Well, in vidyavathi, you are not just trying to convince yourself to believe something, you are also trying to convince someone else that you believe it to be true.
In the past, most people have been extremely self-aware, and for much of the day their mind was so focused on what they believed to be the truth that they didnt realize that they were actually just believing what they wanted to believe. Now, it seems we have become more self-aware, but we still have a tendency to believe what we want to believe. For example, I believe that I am right about everything.
Just because you believe something doesn’t mean that you are right, but merely that you believe it to be true. When we are self-aware, our ability to think critically is greatly enhanced. That’s why we can convince ourselves that we are right even when we are not, when the truth is something else entirely.
We’ve all been raised to believe that we are somehow special and that we should have all the answers. And that is a good thing, but now that we can see through the veil of this specialness we are capable of asking ourselves, “What the fuck is the real truth?” And that is what vidyavathi is for.

The first player to reach any level of vidyavathi would be able to kill the other two players. The next would be a level below. The next would be a level below that. All the way up to level 5. The first player would be able to kill the second player and the third would kill the first. In other words, the game is about the power of introspection. If you can look at things from a different angle, you can see the real truth.
It is not true that the power of introspection is in fact the power of killing people. In the games it is also the power of the game, not the player’s. In the games the player can kill people, and they can’t. They can, however, kill you.
