I love the sound of shompens. If you’re lucky enough to live in the Washington, D.C. area, you might be familiar with their original line of shompens. Back in the 1950s, shompens were used as a way to help women sleep better.
Although shompens weren’t actually the original form of the product, they basically the same idea. Basically, shompens consisted of a pad of leather on the bottom of a cardboard box and a pillowcase atop it that had a hole cut out for the head. The pillowcase was then attached to the box via a strap. The pad was inserted so that the head would be resting comfortably in the hole. All that was needed to sleep was the pillowcase and the strap.
shompens are still in common use today although they have been phased out in favor of “hot” pads. These pads are much better and better at holding you in place. Hot pads use a lot of air to absorb the heat of your body, which causes your head to sink into the pillowcase at an unnatural angle. It’s not like you actually sleep in a pillow case, but if you’re a guy who likes to sleep in a certain fashion it might be the best option.
I see no point in doing this, but I do think that by not sleeping I’m getting a little lazy. Shompens’ first attempt to do this was to get a pair of hot pads in the bed. It’s a mistake by the way. They’re hot, so they don’t get hot enough, and I’m not getting them at all.
The fact that shompens has a name just makes it all the more horrifying. I mean its a joke, but you could be the first person in the world to experience the sensation of having your head sticking in a pillow.
Now that you’ve seen a few of the other posters on this page, I see that they are in fact the most likable of those on the planet. It’s a perfect example of the idea that people have too much of a chance of getting together.
Not to toot my own horn, but there are also many good reasons to get together with your friends. But the fact that there are so many people out there with the same goal, and they all happen to be on the internet, means that there is potential for the perfect storm of disaster.
This is another thing that I want to mention to you, as I’m currently writing this article, I’d like to talk about the main thing that keeps us together: the fact that we’re on autopilot.
That’s true. But don’t forget that you are a little too old to be on autopilot.
It’s an interesting fact that if you think about it, we are basically the same species. We are all on autopilot, and we all have a common goal, whether it be finding our way through this web of information. But the fact that we are all on autopilot and that no one is around to take action to change things means that we are constantly at risk of disaster.
