This is a dish that was actually created by my friend, Aria. Aria has a great sense of humor and a sharp eye for design, which is why she was able to make a dish that was both funny and appealing to a large crowd.
Baby Yuto, which was originally made by an Italian restaurant in Seattle, has been on the menu at our house for a month now and it’s one of those dishes that people just can’t get enough of. So far, I’ve eaten it six or seven times and I’ve only just gotten around to writing about it.
I love the fact that I can get something out of Aria and her kitchen. The food just tastes so good that you go on a binge immediately following a meal. I know Aria doesn’t want me to give it away, but I do want to give you a couple samples of what you can expect from this dish.
Basically, this dish is a rice pilaf that is cooked for eight hours. The rice is cooked in a special type of water that is much more flavorful and naturally sweetened than regular water. This rice is then baked directly in the oven, which in turn, releases the natural sweetness of the rice and allows it to become so sweet, it turns into a glaze that is spread across the rice.
You can also add in some veggies, such as broccoli, carrots, peppers, and corn, to make the glaze even more flavorful, or you can even add some meat to the dish. The rice, veggies, and meat are all cooked in a special, deep-dish, rice cooker that is set to low heat. As long as the rice and vegetables are cooked and hot enough, they should retain their natural sweetness and flavor.
